Tim Ritter
Science
Rancho Cucamonga
Tim received his BS in
Biology from Cal Poly Pomona and MS in Biology from Cal State
University, San Bernardino. He has been a science educator for 17
years, teaching Biology, AP Biology, Natural Science, Physical Science
and Earth Science. Tim has been a leader and active participant in a
number of science networks. Most notably, he worked as the Regional
Director for the California Scope, Sequence and Coordination Project
(SS&C) for San Bernardino and Riverside County for a period of four
years and as the Southern California Director of the project for three
years. Tim also served as the president of the Inland Area Science
Teachers Association (IASTA) for two years following his role as Vice
President for an additional two years. As a staff developer, Tom has
planned, organized and conducted two week summer institutes for the SS&C
Project during the 1993-1997 school years and for the Los Angeles
Unified School District in 1998. He has also been utilized as an
ongoing science consultant and staff developer for LAUSD, the Chad
Science Academy in New Jersey, Fort Collins USD in Colorado and for
various schools and districts throughout the San Bernardino and
Riverside areas. Tim has been honored as a leading science educator
having been named a Presidential Science Award Finalist and California
recipient for this award in 1997 and 1998. Tim has recently finished
work on a Southwest Publishers newest text entitled "Cord Biology". Tim
worked as a contributing author and reviewer for the textbook and author
of the laboratory manual and performance assessment task.
